Whitefox Recruitment has announced a $20,000 sponsorship partnership with Northcliffe Surf Life Saving Club athlete and professional Ironman competitor Auden Parish, backing the emerging Australian surf sports athlete as he prepares to take his career onto the global stage in South Africa later this year.
The 12-month partnership will see Whitefox Recruitment become a major sponsor of Parish, providing financial support towards training, competition and travel commitments, alongside a broader partnership spanning content, events and community initiatives.
For Whitefox Recruitment Managing Director Luke Hemmings, the decision to support Parish extends well beyond his results.
“This was never simply about putting our logo alongside an athlete,” Mr Hemmings said.
“It was about backing somebody whose values, work ethic and ambition genuinely align with what Whitefox represents.
“The more I got to know Auden, the more obvious it became that this needed to be more than a conventional sponsorship.”
Parish, who now competes for Northcliffe SLSC on the Gold Coast, has steadily established himself across Ironman and board racing after emerging through the Under 19 ranks.
His early results included first place in the Under 19s, second in the Open Ironman at Alexandra Headland and second in the Ironman at the Australian Championships.
In his first year of Open competition, Parish qualified for every Open Ironman and board final during the Summer of Surf, secured a podium finish during the professional Ironman Series, placed second in the State Titles Ironman and qualified for both the Australian Ironman and board finals.
His progression continued during the 2023–24 season, qualifying across the professional Ironman Series and finishing 13th overall.
Parish also won World Ocean Series Summer of Surf board races at Alexandra Headland and Northcliffe before finishing second in the board race at the Australian Championships.
The following season delivered further podium results, including third at the World Board Titles and third in the Australian Championships board race, while Parish qualified for the professional Ironman Series for a third consecutive year.
His 2025–26 campaign marked another significant step forward.
Parish won the Ironman Series trials before finishing fourth in the Ocean Series Ironman at Alexandra Headland and sixth at Burleigh Heads.
He finished the season 11th overall in the World Ocean Series Ironman standings, with top-10 performances across rounds at Maroochydore, Manly and Northcliffe.
At the Australian Championships, Parish finished 13th in the Open Ironman and 12th in the Open board race.
The next chapter will now take Parish beyond Australia, with the Northcliffe athlete set to compete on the global stage in South Africa later this year.
For Whitefox Recruitment, that international opportunity further reinforces the timing of the partnership.
Mr Hemmings said Parish’s consistent progression was one of the reasons Whitefox wanted to support him at this stage of his career.
“You can see the progression year after year,” he said.
“Auden hasn’t arrived on the back of one result. He has continued to qualify, compete and improve against some of the best athletes in the country.
“Now he is preparing to take that next step internationally, and to be able to support him as he heads to South Africa makes this partnership even more exciting.
“But the results are only part of it. It is his discipline, humility and determination behind them that made me want to get involved.”
The partnership reflects Whitefox Recruitment’s approach to supporting emerging Australian talent, with the company seeking relationships where financial backing can make a tangible difference to an individual’s career.
For Parish, that support will help alleviate some of the financial pressure associated with competing professionally, particularly as his racing commitments increasingly extend beyond Australia.
“I’m proud to call Luke my friend and someone I know I can rely on for moral support and guidance,” Parish said.
“The financial sponsorship will eliminate a lot of stress for me, which means I can focus on what I love doing and really enjoy my racing.
“With South Africa coming up later this year and the opportunities ahead, having that support behind me means a lot.
“I feel blessed to have Luke and Whitefox in my corner.”
Mr Hemmings said that relationship had become equally important to him.
“There are parts of Auden’s story that resonated with me immediately,” he said.
“We have both experienced adversity in different ways, and I understand the mindset of deciding that where you started does not have to determine where you finish.
“What struck me most about Auden is how grounded he is. There is no entitlement. He is prepared to work for what he wants, and I have enormous respect for that.”
For Parish’s mother, Kylie Hurley, the relationship between the pair has also made the partnership particularly meaningful.
“What Luke’s relationship with Auden now means to me is incredibly meaningful,” Ms Hurley said.
“Luke is more than a sponsor to him. The partnership, the way he supports Auden as both a young man and an athlete, and the guidance he provides are things I will forever be grateful for.
“I am excited to watch their relationship continue to grow. They share similar values, and knowing Auden has someone else in his corner who genuinely wants to see him succeed means a great deal.”
For emerging athletes, competing at an elite level carries costs extending well beyond race day.
Training, equipment, recovery, competition expenses and regular travel can create considerable financial pressure while athletes attempt to establish themselves at the highest level of their sport.
Those costs become even more significant as competition expands internationally.
Whitefox Recruitment’s $20,000 commitment is intended to alleviate some of that pressure and allow Parish to focus more closely on his training, performance and upcoming international commitments.
“If this sponsorship means Auden can make decisions based on what is best for his career rather than what he can afford at a particular moment, then it is achieving exactly what we wanted it to,” Mr Hemmings said.
“The money matters because it removes pressure. But I also want Auden to know there is somebody in his corner he can call after a great race, a bad race or when he simply needs some perspective.
“That is what a genuine partnership looks like to me.”
Throughout the 12-month partnership, Whitefox Recruitment will also work with Parish across digital content, events and community initiatives, providing an opportunity for audiences to follow his journey and see more of the work that takes place away from competition.
“People see the race and they see the result,” Mr Hemmings said.
“They don’t always see the early mornings, the training, travel, sacrifices, setbacks and years of work required just to get onto that start line.
“That is a story worth telling.”
The partnership also carries a strong Gold Coast connection.
Parish now represents Northcliffe SLSC, while Whitefox Recruitment has built its business and brand across the Gold Coast and wider South East Queensland market.
“Surf lifesaving is part of the fabric of the Gold Coast, and Northcliffe has an incredible history within the sport,” Mr Hemmings said.
“To be able to support Auden while he represents Northcliffe, and now as he prepares to compete internationally, makes the partnership even more meaningful.”
Parish’s career to date has been defined by steady progression.
From winning at Under 19 level to professional Ironman Series qualification, World Ocean Series victories, national podium finishes and an 11th-place overall World Ocean Series Ironman season, each year has brought another step forward.
South Africa will now provide another opportunity for Parish to test that progression on the global stage.
Whitefox Recruitment believes there is considerably more to come.
“Auden has already achieved a lot, but I genuinely believe his best racing is still ahead of him,” Mr Hemmings said.
“He has shown he belongs at this level and continues to improve, but more importantly, he has the character and mindset to keep pushing.
“To see him now heading onto the global stage is incredibly exciting.
“I’m proud to have Auden representing Whitefox. But beyond the sponsorship, I’m proud to call him a friend and I feel fortunate to be in his corner for whatever comes next.”
For Parish, having that support behind him means he can enter the next stage of his career with greater freedom to focus on the reason he started competing in the first place.
Racing.
Improving.
And seeing just how far he can take it.
