This is a serious kitchen leadership appointment inside one of the Southern Gold Coast’s most recognised beachfront hospitality venues. Strong location, established reputation, loyal local following, and a dining and events offering with genuine room to elevate.
Our client is looking for an Executive Chef or Senior Head Chef who can lead from the front, bring structure to the kitchen, and deliver consistently across both high-quality dining and large-scale events.
This role is built for a chef who knows how to balance creativity, team leadership, cost control, and commercial performance without losing sight of the guest experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead daily kitchen operations across dining, events, preparation, service, and execution
Manage, train, roster, and develop the kitchen team with clear leadership and accountability
Develop and implement seasonal menus using fresh, local, and high-quality produce
Maintain strong standards across food preparation, presentation, quality control, and consistency
Oversee food ordering, inventory management, supplier relationships, and stock control
Drive food cost control, wage management, pricing, and overall kitchen profitability
Work closely with venue management to ensure seamless service and strong operational alignment
Deliver high-quality dining experiences while also catering for large groups and premium events
Maintain compliance across food safety, hygiene, workplace health, and kitchen standards
Stay across industry trends, techniques, and best practice to keep the culinary offering sharp and relevant
ABOUT YOU
Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Executive Chef, Senior Head Chef, or senior culinary leader
Formal culinary qualifications, including Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
Proven experience leading a kitchen team in a busy hospitality or events-driven environment
Strong capability across fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced menu development
Confident managing food costs, wage costs, inventory, suppliers, and kitchen budgets
Experienced in delivering both restaurant dining and high-end events
Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate, develop, and hold a team accountable
Highly organised, calm under pressure, and able to make strong decisions during busy service periods
Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, compliance, and inventory management
Passionate about hospitality, quality produce, and delivering a memorable guest experience
