This is a serious venue leadership appointment inside one of the Gold Coast’s most recognised casual dining and sports bar venues. Our client is looking for an Assistant Venue Manager who can support the Venue Manager and Head Chef, lead from the floor, develop the team, and help drive day-to-day venue performance across service, operations, compliance, labour, and revenue.
This role is built for a hospitality professional who knows how to balance leadership, guest experience, team culture, commercial performance, and operational discipline without losing sight of energy and fun.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the Venue Manager and Head Chef across daily venue operations, service standards, team leadership, and execution
Lead, train, motivate, and develop the front-of-house team with clear expectations and accountability
Deliver energetic, professional, and memorable guest experiences across day and night trade
Help create and maintain the venue atmosphere, ambience, presentation, and service rhythm
Support rostering, labour control, ordering, stock management, and day-to-day operational planning
Ensure the team consistently delivers a high-quality casual dining and bar experience
Maintain a clean, safe, well-presented, and well-maintained venue at all times
Support the implementation and delivery of standard operating systems, procedures, and service standards
Collaborate on new initiatives, promotions, menu ideas, and revenue-driving opportunities
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, RSA, OLGR, and venue policies
ABOUT YOU
Proven experience as an Assistant Venue Manager, Duty Manager, Restaurant Manager, or senior hospitality leader
Strong hands-on leadership style with the ability to lead from the floor and set the standard
Confident training, developing, and motivating teams in a fast-paced hospitality environment
Strong understanding of guest experience, venue presentation, service standards, and operational flow
Experienced across casual dining, sports bar, restaurant, or high-volume hospitality environments
Confident managing labour, rostering, ordering, stock, and day-to-day venue performance
Strong food and bar knowledge with a genuine passion for hospitality
Excellent verbal communication skills and strong people management capability
High level of personal presentation with a sharp eye for detail
Current RSA required
